R&D

R&D is important within EURO/CFD. It is a priority to answer customers needs in R&D, or even to anticipate the demand.

As EURO/CFD is accredited CIR (tax-incentive related to R&D), R&D study costs can be deduced from taxes. The studies carried by EURO/CFD are considered internal R&D expenses for customers.

CFD applications

Creating a model for fuel evaporation

This ATEX (explosible atmosphere) study was to locate gas pockets coming from accidental kerosene gas leaks within auxilliary elements of a gas turbine. Evaporation of fuel does not exist in commercial CFD codes: researches were realized to implement a model under Fluent. Then, this model was applied to a real geometry of auxiliary elements subjected to various types of hydrocarbon.

Internal flow of a hydraulic valve

EURO/CFD made a CFD analysis of the internal flow of a hydraulic valve with a given position of the obturating valve. With the result, we wer able to determine the zones of erosion based on the shear of the wall.
