Virgin Team entered the world of Formula 1 with a unique approach: they replace wind-tunnels with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). Technical director of the team, Nick Wirth forsees a wide extension of their equipment. These will provide the team 3.3 terabytes information a day. The expansion should be completed by January. The next car will not be able to benefit from it, but Wirth believes the new monospace will.

To the sceptical ones, the British simply answers: « Evolutions we presented made the car go faster. End of the story. We did not have enough changes because, guess what, we missed financial means... and we spend a huge amount of time on the reliability. »  An investissment made possible thanks to the Russian company Marussia, who entered the capital of Virgin Racing. Timo Glock is the only pilot the team confirmed for next season. His colleague Lucas di Grassi may keep his seat, but he has to face concurrence: Jérôme d’Ambrosio and Giedo van der Garde. John Booth noted, in Abu Dhabi, he is not in a hurry to name his second pilot. « We are not in a hurry. The earlier, the better, we are not really in a hurry. I think we might annouce something before Christmas.» he declared.
